Raymond will do a safety briefing to all walkers at the start time of the walk.
Once briefing has started all walkers are under the responsibility of Raymond.
Once the walk sets off if you miss the start you CANNOT catch up for your own safety.
We set of walking along the headland of Sandgate, the headland at times can be uneven surfaces and slippery so care must be taken at all times...
Once we get on the sand there will be wet areas to cross barefoot is the best however you are also fine to wear shoes but be aware you will get wet up to the knees.
We then walk roughly 1.5 - 2 miles to Chapel Island, observing the wildlife around us, If Raymond is doing the route to canal foot, then he will line everyone up to cross the river Leven. Alternatively, if going to Chapel Island withing 250 metres due to nesting birds we will take a small lunch break before heading back to Sandgate.
Once we set off it is important to not stop you MUST keep walking across at all times.
If you do get into difficulty, please do not get your friends to help as they will get stuck leave it to Raymond and his team to assist you.
Once off the sand all walkers are to not take short cuts this again is for your own safety.
Toilets are located at the beginning of the walk at Sandgate.
